Nach all den eher sportlichen Aktivit\u00e4ten, war heute mal Entspannung angesagt. Seit gestern Abend befinde ich mich im County Clare von Irland, das f\u00fcr zwei Sehenw\u00fcrdigkeiten bekannt ist: Das Portalgrab Poulnabrone Dolmen und die Cliffs of Moher (siehe zweiten Artikel).<\/p>\n

Clare ist auch bekannt f\u00fcr seine karge Karstlandschaft aus Kalkstein, auf dem nur wenig Gras und ein paar B\u00fcsche wachsen – der Burren. Die gro\u00dfen, grauen Kalksteine liegen teilweise wie Flie\u00dfen in der Landschaft, abgerundet und zerkl\u00fcftet vom Regen. Dazwischen wachsen doch einige Pflanzen, darunter auch seltene. Deshalb wird auf jedem Hinweisschild darum gebeten, aufzupassen, wo man hintritt.<\/p>\n

Inmitten dieser Landschaft findet man viele Portalgr\u00e4ber. Das bekannteste ist der Poulnabrone Dolmen, obwohl dies gar kein Portalgrab ist, sondern nur ein schlecht restauriertes Wedge Tomb. Nichtsdestotrotz werden die Leute dort busweise ausgekippt. Es stammt aus dem 3. Jahrtausend vor Christi und steht noch heute.<\/p>\n

Gleich um die Ecke befindet sich direkt an der Stra\u00dfe, aber auf einer Bullenweide hinter B\u00fcschen gut versteckt, ein weiteres Grab, das Gleninsheen Wedge Tomb.<\/p>\n
